terms
// the deal, in plain words. updated october 2026.
gradedns.com is run by Ryan Kempt, a sole proprietor in Ontario, Canada. Using the site, the curl endpoint or the MCP connector means you agree to these terms. Questions go to support@gradedns.com.
free report cards
- Anyone can grade any domain, up to 10 a day. Grading checks the domain from the outside, the way a visitor or a mail server would. What that traffic looks like.
- Don't use the site to harass anyone or to load their servers, and don't get around the daily limits. Scripts are fine within them. Abusive traffic gets refused.
- A domain's owner can ask us to stop grading it. See the scanner page.
grades are information, not a guarantee
The checks are automated and only see what the internet sees. They can be wrong, miss problems, or not fit how you've set things up. A grade isn't a security audit, a certification or compliance advice. Check before you change DNS or a server.
watching domains
- Watching costs US$1/domain/mo, the same for every domain. Checkout shows the exact price before you pay. It's billed monthly in US dollars, plus any tax that applies, and checkout can show it in your currency.
- Payment goes through Link, Stripe's merchant of record, which sells the subscription for us. Checkout, receipts and your card statement (
LINK.COM* GRADEDNS.COM) say Link, and it adds the sales tax, VAT or GST where you are. You can also manage the subscription at link.com. - You get a check of each domain every day, an email when something gets worse or changes, a report card each month, its DMARC reports read when its DMARC record sends them to your account's address, and MCP access. Your account page lists them, and adds or stops domains.
- If the price changes, you get an email at least 30 days before it applies to you.
cancelling and refunds
- Cancel any time with the billing link in any of our emails or at link.com. Watching continues to the end of the month you've paid for, then stops, and you're not charged again.
- Stopping one domain from your account page works the same way: it's watched to the end of the month you've paid for, without emails, and isn't billed after that.
- There are no refunds or credits for part of a month.
- If we charged you by mistake, such as twice for the same domain, email support and we'll refund it.
- Link may also refund a payment under its own policies, or where consumer law requires it, such as a cooling-off period.
- If a payment fails, Stripe tries again for a while. If it still fails, the subscription is cancelled and watching stops.
- If we ever shut the paid service down, we'll refund the unused part of your month.
your data
What's kept, and for how long, is on the privacy page.
the service
- We aim to run it reliably, but it's provided as is: checks can be late or missed, emails delayed, and the site can be down.
- Features can change. A change that takes something away from a paid plan gets an email first.
- As far as the law allows, we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here takes away consumer rights the law doesn't let you give up.
changes and law
When these terms change, the date at the top changes too. If you pay for watching, you get an email about any significant change before it applies. These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
